The first and foremost one takes birth when a simple thought of going abroad and study there strikes in someone’s mind. After that, the respective person plans to deliver the ielts exam without actually concern about what is the real meaning of ielts, why it is conducted, how to crack it, and why it is mandatory for studying abroad. Instead, layman persons treat ielts as a key to their dream or as a ticket to reach abroad.                                

2.A GAMBLING GAME, TOTALLY DEPENDENT ON LUCK: (IELTS 2020)

Ielts is a gambling game and its wholly solely dependent on luck, the more your luck favors you the more bands you garner. This is a case of blind faith in luck and fortune. However, the chances of happening the same in practical life are very less. This just shows people’s faith in reel than in real.

This is another misconception that has laid impact the people’s perspective about ielts with leaps and bounds. This myth is growing at a higher pace among youngsters as they have created an ideology in their psyche that if they will choose a less developed or a remote area in order to appear for the ielts exam there is a high probability of them to score good bands. The reason is that as per their thinking, examiners give one band extra to those who belong to a backward area, which is not true at all.

4. FOREIGN EXAMINERS PROVIDE MORE BANDS THAN NATIVE ONE: (IELTS 2020)

This myth is all about irrelevant assumptions of the public towards marking scheme of foreign examiners as they think that international examiners are big-hearted personalities and easily give 6.5 to 7 bands to each candidate in speaking. Contrarily, native examiners deduct bands for every little mistake pupils commit while speaking in front of them.

5. MYTH ABOUT TESTS CONDUCTED ON LAST DATES OF MONTHS: (IELTS 2020)

This is the next myth added to the list of myths about ielts. This is a common myth among not only the aspirants of ielts but among ielts trainers also, as they offer a huge hand in creating a negative approach in student’s minds towards exams, being conducted by IDP or BC in last days of the month or the last exam of the month.

Pupils usually deny to fill paper on end dates of any month due to the fear of facing a hard level exam. Additionally, they feel like it’s not easy to earn desired scores from these exams.

6.MYTHOLOGICAL DIFFERENTIATION BETWEEN IDP OR BC: (IELTS 2020)

Although everyone knows that either IDP or BC, they both are just test conducting authorities being appointed by Cambridge university but there a hand full of people who think that IDP or BC itself prepare ielts exams and authenticate too. Moreover, they opine that BC’s paper is somehow easy than that of IDP, which is totally an incorrect conception.

As setting exams are not under the control of these two authorities however, they merely follow instructions being disseminated by Cambridge University to conduct a paper in many countries.

At the last, it can be drawn out that ielts itself is nor hard much neither it requires additional efforts to crack the exam rather its merely the misconceptions that have come across the way of ielts aspirants, not letting them to achieve desired bands. (IELTS 2020)
